Purpose:
By default, most downloaded PDF files open in the Internet browser currently in use, usually in a new window or tab. You can set up the browser to automatically download PDF files, rather than open in a new tab. The instructions below are for the Chrome browser.
When signed into Chrome: 1. Open the more menu in the upper rights. |

2. Navigate down and select Settings. | ![]() |
3. Select Privacy and Security on the left menu. | ![]() |
4. Select Site Settings. | ![]() |
5. Select PDF documents. | ![]() |
6. Turn on "Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome". The button should turn blue. | ![]() |
